FIRM NEWS: Managing Partner Joshua Lurie Secures a Trial Victory in New Jersey
On Behalf of Lurie|Strupinsky, LLP | Mar 10, 2022 | Firm News |
On Monday, February 28, 2022, the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, General Equity Part handed down judgment in favor of our clients, who were forced to litigate over their desire to sell and distribute the assets of a two-family, income producing property in Essex County, jointly owned with Defendants the since 1987.
After a multi-day bench trial spanning weeks, the Court agreed with Mr. Lurie that there was insufficient evidence to overturn the plain language of the Deed, while Defendants tried to argue that our clients were not rightful owners, and did not belong on the Deed.
The Court entered Judgement compelling the sale of the property, and equitably distributing the proceeds from the sale. Based on conservative estimates in this real estate climate, Plaintiffs will recover upwards of $175,000 from the sale.
Here is Josh in front of the Vermont Supreme Court, where he is admitted. The good news came while he was skiing!
